KIMBERLY TRUONG is a Vietnamese-American writer, producer, and digital marketing strategist who hails from the freaky state of Florida (she profusely apologizes on behalf of her state) and now happily resides in Los Angeles. In addition to making it out of Florida somewhat intact, she's proud of the following:
Her short film, THE RIDE (writer, executive producer, actor) was an Official Selection of 2024 NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, 2024 XL Fest, 2023 Viet Film Fest, and a 2022 Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival semi-finalist. THE RIDE was also showcased in the 2023 Palm Springs ShortFest’s industry-only film market.
Her latest project, BABALU (writer, executive producer, actor), is an eight-part audio drama currently in post-production and slated for release in early 2025. The pilot episode for BABALU was published as part of a Kickstarter campaign (which has since been successfully funded) and has gone on to become an Official Selection of the 2023 Rhode Island International Film Festival (Podcast Category).
Also, Kimberly was listed as one of the Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch in 2021 by the International Screenwriters' Association, was a finalist for the 2020 NBC Writers on the Verge fellowship, was the grand prize winner of the 2020 Table Read My Screenplay short scripts competition, and was a writer for the 2018 CBS Diversity Showcase.
In addition to her creative endeavors, Kimberly has built a career as a corporate shill, working in tech, marketing, and social media for the last 15 years, executing creative direction and production for various brands (and is actually quite grateful for the experiences she’s been able to have).
Perhaps the thing she’s most proud of is that she helped raise her two much younger siblings, who in return, now attempt to teach her how to use TikTok.
Feel free to contact Kim with any ideas, questions, or funny cat videos.
